 Proven Products

Select Engineering, Inc. offers four standard product groups:
  • Cross-Hatch Style for pre-wired applications
  • Metal Snap and Eyelet for two-piece construction
  • One-Piece Conductive Carbon for x-ray translucent applications
  • Two-Piece Conductive Carbon for x-ray translucent applications
All of our product line, whether standard or custom, are distinguished by exceptional electrical characteristics. DC offset, impedance and defibrillation recovery all consistently test out at fractions of the accepted industry limits set by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI).

In fact, DC offset, a key determinant of an electrode's reliability, routinely measures .5 millivolts, compared with the AAMI ceiling of 100. What's more, such high performance hasn't come at the expense of the environment. Having designed its own water treatment/recycling system — as well as the inherently cleaner silver-deposition process — Select Engineering, Inc. far exceeds every legal standard for discharge purity.

Cross-Hatched styleCross-Hatch Style

With a special cross-hatched post to simplify ultrasonic welding to the lead wire, the S-7001/CF is ideal for medical diagnostic and monitoring equipment and other applications in bio-instrumentation.

The S-7001/CF also features a 0.1 mil Ag/AgCl coating evenly distributed over a conductive molded plastic substrate to facilitate a positive electrical contact with the lead wire. A proprietary deposition process, completely designed and engineered in-house, ensures an extremely uniform coating that will not flake or peel under even strenuous use.

The S-7001/CF is available in an x-ray transparent version, the SRT-7001, with a .06 mil coating thickness. Like all of Select Engineering, Inc's. standard and custom sensors, including x-ray transparent models, the S-7001 also offers exceptional electrical performance, routinely recording mere fractions of accepted industry limits for DC offset, impedance and defibrillation recovery. For example, although specific values vary with the type of conductive gel used, the company's stringent "zero defect" QA program produces DC offset readings consistently below 1 mv, with minimal sensor-to-sensor variation, compared to an AAMI ceiling of 100.

One-Piece Conductive CarbonOne-Piece Conductive Carbon

Designed to accept a snap-on lead wire, the S-2651 sensor features a molded plastic substrate covered with a 0.1 mil Ag/AgCl coating that will not flake or peel under even the most strenuous use. A unique, environmentally responsible deposition process, designed and engineered in-house, ensures extreme coating uniformity, as well as flawless adhesion.

Select Engineering, Inc. offers a full range of application-specific coating thicknesses. Like all of Select's standard and custom sensors, including x-ray transparent models, the S-2651 sensor also boasts exceptional electrical performance, with DC offset, impedance and defibrillation recovery all measuring out at fractions of AAMI limits. Although specific values vary with the type of conductive gel used, DC offset — a key determinant of sensitivity — consistently reads below 1 mv, compared with an industry limit of 100.

Metal Snap & EyeletMetal Snap & Eyelet

These superior quality Sensors which are used in Heart Monitoring and Bioinstrumentation Electrodes feature a non flaking coating that is uniformly distributed over the molded plastic substrate.

Part No. S-9001 as shown has a 0.1 mil Silver thickness. Other coating thicknesses are available. The S-9001 is used in a Two-Piece type Electrode and is electrically tested for DC Offset, Impedance, and Defibrillation Recovery to meet AAMI Standards. The S-9001 mates with the S-9000 metal top snap, available in nickel brass and stainless steel, to form a Two-Piece Electrode assembly.

Two-Piece Conductive CarbonTwo-Piece Conductive Carbon

Our series of disposable radio-translucent electrode sensors are effectively invisible to x-rays. Engineered to allow radiologic examinations without troublesome electrode removal and replacement, Select Engineering, Inc's. SRT-type sensors minimize the time medical patients must spend disconnected from ECG and other vital monitoring equipment.

SRT x-ray translucent sensors are available in both one- and two-piece designs, of either uncoated carbon fiber or a silver/silver chloride coating over a conductive plastic substrate. Select Engineering, Inc's. popular SRT-7001/CF/40, for example, is a one-piece conductive carbon sensor for prewired applications, while the SRT-3601 features a 0.06 mil Ag/AgCl coating and mates with the SRT-2001/CF/40 carbon top snap to form a two-piece assembly. A unique, environmentally responsible deposition process, developed and engineered in-house, ensures that Select's extremely uniform coatings will not flake or peel even in rigorous use.

Like all of Select Engineering, Inc's. high-performance products, SRT sensors also boast superior electrical characteristics. Under the company's stringent programs of inspection and testing, Select's radio translucent sensors consistently record mere fractions of industry-accepted AAMI limits for DC offset, impedance and defibrillation recovery.
